Pinhole Specs ! Improve your eyesight now !

On 20 May 2006, after a tiring visit to the Jurong Bird Park, I went to IMM with my sisters. For the first time, we visited the Japanese discount shop on the 3rd floor.[aka Daiso. thx to Desmond for the enlightenment] Because of my crappy memory and generally lazyiness for shopping, I can't recall the shop name despite it's apparent fame for cheap japanese products.

My youngest sister picked up a $2 pinhole specs which she said could help her myopia problem. I activated my doubt-it-all-physics processor and told her that it is going to be useless as it only restricts incoming light, and at best, functions as a lousy sunglasses of sorts.

Then my younger sister told me it should work based on the pin hole effect. I couldn't take the crap because it sounds very much like a quack product to me. There is no way for me to pay $2 for something that is defined as crap by my doubt-it-all-physics processor and leave it at that.

It is sold under various names, eg. Natural vision in singapore $39.90, and is supposed to be based on the Bates Method for improving eyesight without lenses or surgery.

It did a 5 minute research during my spare time and got my answer : It's bullsh*t.

It turned out to be ancient product that is based on flawed prinicples made new again and again. It's worthless, so shun it and seek traditional treatment for your myopia problems. People, you have been warned, it is a fairly useless product.

Damn, my $2. My youngest sister still have not paid me for it.
And to all of the myopias out there, sorry this is not your wonder cure
